About: Jennie Wyse Power (née O’Toole) was prominent in public life in Ireland and was one of the pioneers in the participation of women in political life. She worked with some of the most famous names in Irish history such as Michael Davitt, Charles Stewart Parnell, Arthur Griffith and Eamon de Valera. She became the first President of Cumann na mBan (the women’s auxiliary to the Irish Volunteers) and was a member of the Irish Senate.
