About: An account of the investigation into a brutal rape and assault by Larry Murphy which took place in the Kildare / West Wicklow area in February 2000.  He was only apprehended when two local hunters came across him and his victim. The nature of this particular event has led to suspicions that Larry Murphy may have been responsible for other, more serious, crimes against women. The popular media have not been slow in demonising Murphy and the ‘Beast of Baltinglass’ appellation helps to fuel this impression.
