About: On this day, August 1st, 1924 Felix Mc Mullen was hanged. It transpired that during an attempted bank robbery in Baltinglass in 1924, Sergeant Patrick O’Halloran was fatally injured. He was just the third member of the Garda Síochána to die in the line of duty. This short chapter briefly outlines the incident and the subsequent trial and conviction of Felix Mc Mullen for murder.
